Chinese New Year will be
on 31st January, 2014 and we will continue with our Annual Tradition of
practicing Vajrasattva from the last day of the previous year to the
first day of the new year.
This year we will begin at 8:00pm on 30th January and will continue onwards till 8:00pm 31st January, 2014.
During
this period we will recite Vajrasattva long mantra outloud. We will
abstain from solid food but you can bring any liquid such as milk, soya
milk, soft drink, or water. As this is a retreat, we will observe
silence during this 24 hours period.
We
will take turn to rest out voice for periods but the recitation of the
Vajrasattva long mantra will be continuous. Which means someone can take
rest in between while others will continue with the recitation.
This
practice is very beneficial in purifying out negative karma of the
previous year so that will start with a clean slate for the year of the
horse.
We
need at least six people who are committed to stay the whole course of
24 hours. Others can join in as they wish during this period.
