Ayang Rinpoche

Ayang Rinpoche is also the founder of two monasteries, in cluding Thupten Shedup Janchub Ling at Bylakupee, Chogyab, and Ayang Tulku, Ayang being the name of a 435-year-old monastery in Kham (eastern Tibet) which is a branch of the Drikung main monastery.Perhaps no Tibetan lama is more identified with the transmission of Phowa to the West than His Eminence Ayang Rinpoche.

The holiday season inspires us to remember the things for which we are truly grateful, and to practice generosity out of loving kindness and compassion for others. Today we are urging you to make a long-lasting difference in the lives of Tibetan nomads in Ayang Rinpoche's birthplace area.

In 2004 Rinpoche asked members of the Amitabha Foundation to try to find out why so many women were dying in childbirth. Since then, we have made strides in reducing maternal and infant mortality by sponsoring a clinic, doctors and a midwife, and training families in using clean birthing kits for safe home childbirth. Your donation today will help repair the clinic roof and keep salaries paid and medicines and clean birthing kits purchased for 2016. Please, can you help us now with a year-end, tax-deductible donation? Visit our website for pictures and more details.
  • $1,008 will repair 1 section of roof or re-plaster and paint 2 rooms
  • $512 will pay the head doctor and clinic administrator's salaries for 1 month
  • $252 will pay the midwife's salary for 3 weeks
  • $108 will buy a month's supply of medicines
  • $52 will buy 1 clean birthing kit, with prenatal vitamins
  • $25 will pay for gasoline for 1 ambulance trip to hospital

10 Levels Amitabha and Introduction to True Nature of Mind In Bodhgaya Schudule

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,
Last year after the Bodhgaya Phowa course, many people requested Rinpoche for the Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching and the 10 Levels Buddha Amitabha Teachings. Since the True Nature of Mind Teachings need private interview with each person, it takes many days. Therefore, the annual Phowa course in Bodhgaya had to be replaced this year by the True Nature of Mind Teaching and the 10 Levels Buddha Amitabha Teachings.

For those people who have not received Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching from Rinpoche earlier, private interviews will be required, which is scheduled from December 29, 2015 to January 4, 2016. If you have not received the True Nature of Mind teaching from Rinpoche before, you will not be permitted to receive the TNM teachings without the interview. For those who have received Introduction to True Nature of Mind teaching from Rinpoche earlier, interview is not required and may attend the teaching if you are interested.
Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching is on January 5, 2016; and Milarepa Tsog Offering Prayer is January 6, 2015. The 10 Level Buddha Amitabha Teaching and Practice is from December 24-28, 2015.

Tenshug

Tenshug (Long Life) Ceremony for H. E. Chöje Ayang Rinpoche

At Thupten Shedrub Jangchul Ling Monastery in Bylakuppe, 1-3 May 2015
A Tenshug is a special ritual offered to high lamas to create the necessary merits and conditions for them to extend their lives. When a Master is manifesting illness or uncertainty in living, students should arrange a tenshug offering done in all its completeness. When the Master lives long, the Buddha Dharma will grow and benefit beings. The Buddha Dharma’s growth is dependent on Masters. H.E Choeje Ayang Rinpoche is the Founder and Director of all Amitabha Foundation
organizations around the world, the Drikung Charitable Society, ThuptenShedrubJangchul Ling Monastery in Bylakuppe, DechenChoeku Ling Monastery in Mundgod, Serlung Monastery in Kollegal, Amitabha Meditation Center in Kalimpong and Bodhgaya in India and the Amitabha Foundation Retreat Center in Nepal. Ayang Rinpoche is one of the foremost Tibetan Buddhist
masters who had introduced Buddha Dharma to the West in the early seventies, following the advice and instruction of HH the XVIthGyalwang Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. He is also the first Drikung Master instrumental in introducing the Drikung Lineage to the West. Many high lamas had recommended a Tenshug (long life offering) for H.E Choje Ayang Rinpoche last year in 2014, when it was the obstacle year for Rinpoche according to Tibetan calendar, the horse year in which Rinpoche was born. At that time we did extensive White Tara
and Amitayus tsok offering prayers. Following the advice of the masters, Rinpoche has now accepted the Tenshug offering. H.E Choeje Togden Rinpoche, the spiritual Dharma Master and leader of Drikung Kagyu Lineage in Ladakh will be the Vajra Master of the ceremony and offer the Tenshug to Ayang Rinpoche.
The Tenshug (long Life offering) will commence with an elaborate Tsedrup (long life puja/ritual prayer) dedicated to the long life of H.E Ayang Rinpoche, that will last for 3 consecutive days from 30 April to 2 May 2015. The extensive prayers, with chanting lasting from morning until night, will be conducted at the Thupten Shedrup Janchubling Monastery of Ayang Rinpoche in Bylakuppe, by Tulkus, Khenpos and monks, including others attending the ceremony from outside. It will culminate in a grand long life Tenshug offering to HE Ayang Rinpoche on the
auspicious full moon day of 3 May 2015, the day of Buddha Amitabha, with meditation, recitation of Sutras and taking Eight Mahayana Precepts. It is considered an auspicious day in the Tibetan Calendar with positive deeds performed at this time being especially potent for Buddha Dharma in general and for the flourishing of the enlightened activities of Rinpoche. For those students who wish to attend the ceremony, kindly confirm by sending an email to
amitabhafoundation@yahoo.co.in and a copy to drikungcharitablesociety@yahoo.com. Alternately, you may call the monastery at +91 8223 254220. For those who are not able to attend this special occasion, we suggest you dedicate your practice and prayers for Rinpoche’s Kindly send any donations towards the Tenshug expenses to the bank details mentioned below,

The sixth annual Chinese New Year Vajrasattva 24 hours practice

The sixth annual Chinese New Year Vajrasattva 24 hours practice is upon us again.

This year the practice will begin at 6:00pm on 18th February and will end at 6:00pm on 19th February 2015.

During this short retreat, participants are to refrain from talking and also abstain from intake of solid food. Please bring any liquid such as soya milk or milk, tea or coffee for this retreat.

If you are not able to join for the entire 24 hours period, you are welcome to join in any time during this period.
