Annual Guru Dragpo Puja

 

Dear Sangha,

 

The annual Guru Dragpo puja at Ayang Rinpoche's monastery, Thupten Shedrub Jangchub Ling, begins January 24, 2016 and continues for 7 days through January 30, 2016. Guru Drakpo is practiced at the end of the year to dispel obstacles and purify any remaining negativities in order to usher in happiness and prosperity for the New Year (Losar), which is February 9th this year.

You may participate at home by reciting the Guru Dragpo short mantra:

OM AH HUNG ATSIK NIRTSIK NAMO BHAGAWATE HUNG HUNG AH HUNG HUNG PHAT//

You may also participate by reciting the Guru Rinpoche mantra (see below) or the Seven-Line Prayer to Guru Rinpoche. Click here for Ayang Rinpoche's teaching on the Seven-Line Prayer, and the prayer in Tibetan and English.

Ayang Rinpoche has said that anyone sponsoring Dharma activities gains the same merit as the practitioners. The full cost of the puja for 280 monks, nuns, khenpos and lamas is $21,650. Your donation of any amount will be appreciated and will be like a drop of water mixed in an ocean of merit. You may include a dedication for your offering in the name of a loved one, including pets. In 2004 Rinpoche asked members of the Amitabha Foundation to try to find out why so many women were dying in childbirth. Since then, we have made strides in reducing maternal and infant mortality by sponsoring a clinic, doctors and a midwife, and training families in using clean birthing kits for safe home childbirth. Your donation today will help repair the clinic roof and keep salaries paid and medicines and clean birthing kits purchased for 2016. 10 Levels Amitabha and Introduction to True Nature of Mind In Bodhgaya Schudule

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Last year after the Bodhgaya Phowa course, many people requested Rinpoche for the Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching and the 10 Levels Buddha Amitabha Teachings. Since the True Nature of Mind Teachings need private interview with each person, it takes many days. Therefore, the annual Phowa course in Bodhgaya had to be replaced this year by the True Nature of Mind Teaching and the 10 Levels Buddha Amitabha Teachings.

For those people who have not received Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching from Rinpoche earlier, private interviews will be required, which is scheduled from December 29, 2015 to January 4, 2016. If you have not received the True Nature of Mind teaching from Rinpoche before, you will not be permitted to receive the TNM teachings without the interview. For those who have received Introduction to True Nature of Mind teaching from Rinpoche earlier, interview is not required and may attend the teaching if you are interested.

Introduction to True Nature of Mind Teaching is on January 5, 2016; and Milarepa Tsog Offering Prayer is January 6, 2015. The 10 Level Buddha Amitabha Teaching and Practice is from December 24-28, 2015.

10 Levels Amitabha and Introduction to True Nature of Mind In Bodhgaya

December 24-28, 2015 Ayang Rinpoche will give his Amitabha 10-Level Teachings in Bodhgaya, the holy place of Shakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment.
December 29-January 4, 2016 he will hold interviews for those wanting to take his Introduction to True Nature of Mind teachings. Everyone is required to have an interview before being allowed to attend these teachings.
January 5, 2016 Rinpoche will give his Introduction to True Nature of Mind teachings

[NOTE: There will be no Phowa Course in Bodhgaya this winter.]

Please make your hotel and travel arrangements as soon as possible, as Bodhgaya is always full of pilgrims in December and January.
